Altre 24 storiche canzoni vanno ad aggiungersi alla già impressionante track list di Guitar Hero® 5, che includerà un totale di 85 brani su disco al momento dell'uscita, il prossimo Settembre. Dagli straordinari assolo di "2 Minutes To Midnight" di Iron Maiden alla registrazione live inedita di "The Spirit of Radio" dei Rush; dalle sonorità hard rock della hit dei Grand Funk Railroad "We're An American Band" alla fusione tra punk, hip-hop e sonorità internazionali con il brano dei No Doubt "Ex-Girlfriend," il gioco offre la più grande varietà di grandi pezzi rock del presente e di sempre di alcuni dei più grandi nomi della musica. In aggiunta a questo, la set list di Guitar Hero 5 offrirà in anteprima assoluta "Medicate", il nuovo singolo degli AFI che farà parte dell'album di prossima uscita Crash Love, e che apparirà nel gioco prima dell'uscita dell'album nei negozi, e la ri-registrazione, in esclusiva per il gioco, dello storico inno rap "Bring The Noise 20XX" che per l'occasione ha dato vita ad una collaborazione tra i Public Enemy e Zakk Wylde. Numerose band all'interno delle tracce annunciate oggi fanno il loro debutto in un videogioco, tra queste: A Perfect Circle, Brand New, Eagles of Death Metal, Gorillaz, Gov't Mule, Grand Funk Railroad, King Crimson, Peter Frampton, Spacehog, Sunny Day Real Estate e The Derek Trucks Band.
